finally, cleaned up a bit

Grooming is back, though we learned that Tanya, our groomer of choice is no longer at Beasty Feast. Luckily the new groomer seems very nice and quite adept . . . First, the “before” pics:

Now the “after”:

productivity is suffering. . .

Effectively making use of keyboard and mouse nearly impossible.

She feels even softer than this looks.

how’s that for lighting?

Mike and Maddy were playing frisbee in front of our building, and we took a rest on the neighbors’ stoop. There is scaffolding casting shade above us, but there is a gap that let through a shaft of sunlight. Her expression in the third photo. . .

WFH is tiring

I was just looking up a replacement for the squirrel toy. . .

So we took a break in a small local park. Someone looks sleepy.

Even sleepier.

Can’t hold her head up . . .

what you talkin’ ’bout?

It’s May and you are wearing a mask and a down coat. How is everything “OK”?

finally, a bath

After the bath, she gets “the zoomies” — races all over the apartment at full speed, ’round in circles,
then stops in front of you with this face. It how we all feel, I think, “Things are just FINE! —really!”

it is spring, any way

In spite of everything, it is spring, and the park is beautiful and she is feeling it.

So is Mike mask and all.

Hanging out on the steps of Our Lady of Pompeii waiting for the Burrito Loco order to be ready.
Masks all the time when not at home for now.

Waiting for carry out from Pesce Pasta. We do cook at home, a lot, but the photos aren’t as interesting.

Very serious girl. She needs a bath and a haircut. We all need haircuts!

surreal times

We are sheltering at home, working from home, practicing social distancing, washing, disinfecting, wearing masks in some situations (grocery store or drugstore). Being as careful as possible. Also trying to help out our favorite small business/restaurants. We have a long history (20+ years) with the Tio Pepe family of restaurants, especially Burrito Loco and Tio Pepe.
Tio Pepe has engineered a take out “window” and we try to give them some business every week. Off to one side, they have placed a figure of “Tio Pepe” himself that they must have dug up in storage. His expression seems perfect for the times. Luckily, Maddy is not fazed.

thoughtful

She’d love to figure out how to help with this home office stuff.

Waiting for the pizza by the light of the oven.
OK, not the most flattering picture, but true to her crazy joy at being able to play with Mike.

is it time to play yet?

The perks of working from home. You never know when you are going to look down and see something like this.

happy Saturday

It’s finally starting to feel like spring.

One of our favorite quotes.

waiting

Maddy waits for Mike to join us in the park. There he is!
A split second after this, she was zooming to him.

working from home

Maddy likes to help.

March so far

Quite a busy month so far. Everybody is waiting for spring and for coronavirus to go away.

This is actually from January, at a neighbor’s house, but we’re just getting around to posting it!
Notice how scruffy she is.

Mike and I both have electronic frames at work, and sometimes we send each other snapshots of something that tickles us.
Mike has the little figurine we ordered from Miss Maria Made, and had some fun with it recently.
This was funny.

Look who finally got groomed!

Februrary

Early morning, playing by the light of the NYPD security spotlights.
Maddy among the tags.

After a wet walk, it’s straight to the bathtub, with her raincoat still on.

Who needs a haircut?
Moose as pillow.
